The Roadside Blues Band gets it's bearings from guitarist
Willie Eldorado Lanchantin. His unique physical style of playing, unflashy,
unfettered, and unadorned creates the authentic backdrop for the band.
He is like no other contemporary player I have ever heard, but seems to
effortlessly capture the sound of the early delta players. He creates
his fills with emotions rather than guitar licks and he sings in a voice
truly his own.
Michael Kraus is a natural musician with a true blues voice. He left home
in his late teens and rode freight trains across the country. He brings
to the band a deep knowledge of the blues and a fundamental understanding
of the role of the mouth harp under the strong influence of Little Walter.
Peter Maine and Mitch Throop, create a rythm section where the groove
is essential and complete. They play with a combined 60 yrs of professional
experience and are individually credited playing with Grammy winner John
Leventhal, Commander Cody's Last Planet, Air Men and Albany's Johnny Rabb.
Peter Maine adds another strong lead voice to the band. His percussive
colorings and the organic tone of the acoustic bass bring a solid, deceptively
complex musical bottom to the Band.
